I joined Ellison Travel and Tours in 2011 after selling my clothing business with multiple locations and prior to that working as Director of Sales for a large leather goods company where I was involved in the building of the corporate sales division, managing the sales team and working the corporate incentive and promotions market.
I have always believed that travel opens our minds to understanding and appreciating other cultures and I experienced this first-hand when, in Grade 11, I had the opportunity to travel on a humanitarian trip to Germany, Austria and Romania where I worked at Kids Camp. My eyes were opened to how fortunate we are to live in Canada and enjoy the freedom and opportunities we have (and too often take for granted) when I discovered how other kids lived.
I’ve spent a great deal of time travelling throughout North America for business and pleasure. I will never forget how I felt sitting in a café in Old Quebec in the heart of the city, enjoying the sights and sounds with a view of Le Chateau Frontenac and having the crowd suddenly silenced when marching bagpipe bands from around the world started to play “Amazing Grace” – a truly inspiring moment!
